The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) participated in a round table discussion on Ghana’s cashew processing industry, organised by the Cashew Council of Ghana (CCG) as part of its maiden meeting, held on Monday, 14th September 2026, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, the programme was held under the theme, “Building a Competitive and Sustainable Cashew Value Chain Together.”
In his remarks, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Finance & Administration), Mr. Musah Sibiri Hamidu, commended the Cashew Council of Ghana for convening stakeholders to deliberate on issues affecting the growth and competitiveness of the industry. He highlighted the importance of value addition under the Free Zones Scheme, noting that enterprises operating under the Scheme are required to export a minimum of 70 percent of their processed output.
The round table brought together key stakeholders from government institutions, financial institutions and the private sector to discuss opportunities and challenges within Ghana’s cashew value chain. The engagement provided an opportunity for stakeholders to share perspectives and identify practical measures to strengthen Ghana’s cashew processing industry and promote greater value addition.
The GFZA remains committed to collaborating with industry stakeholders to promote investment, value addition, competitiveness and sustainable growth in Ghana’s agro-processing sector.
