About Enterprise

Quintiles West Africa Ltd is the Ghanaian branch of the global company Quintiles, a leading biopharmaceutical services and clinical research organization (CRO). Originally part of Quintiles Transnational, the company expanded globally to support the development, execution, and management of clinical research studies and pharmaceutical services in over 60 countries worldwide. Quintiles later merged with IMS Health to form QuintilesIMS, and the combined business adopted the name IQVIA — a major global provider of clinical, data, and commercial services to the life sciences industry.

Quintiles West Africa Ltd serves as the regional operations hub in Ghana for these biopharmaceutical and clinical research services. The company established an office in Accra as part of its strategy to support clinical research, regulatory work, and health sciences initiatives across West Africa, offering access to patient populations and clinical sites for studies on diseases that are prevalent across the region, including infectious diseases and other therapeutic areas.

Historically, the operation in Ghana worked closely with local institutions such as the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research to expand clinical research capacity, provide training for clinical investigators, and support large‑scale health studies. This collaboration positioned the company as a catalyst in building research capability and clinical science expertise within the sub‑region.

As part of the broader Quintiles/IQVIA network, Quintiles West Africa Ltd contributes to advancing evidence‑based healthcare, clinical trial implementation, regulatory excellence, and pharmaceutical development support — thereby connecting Ghana and West Africa to global life sciences research and development activities.
