Accra, March 2026
On 13th March 2026, a delegation from the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), led by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Administration, Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah, paid a working visit to Dufry & GTDC Limited, a duty-free company operating under the Ghana Free Zones Scheme.



The purpose of the visit was to congratulate the company on its 25 years of successful operations as a Free Zone Enterprise. The visit also formed part of the Authority’s ongoing stakeholder engagement and aftercare activities, aimed at strengthening relationships with companies operating under the Free Zones Scheme.
During the visit, the management of Dufry & GTDC Ltd., led by the Country General Manager, Mr. Sasidharan Anand Mangaiath, briefed the delegation on their operations. They highlighted the company’s role in promoting Ghana-made products through its duty-free shops at the Accra International Airport.
Management indicated that the company remains committed to showcasing locally produced goods to international travellers, thereby promoting Ghanaian brands and supporting export-oriented trade.
Management further revealed plans to expand their duty-free retail operations to other airports in Ghana once they attain international status, as well as explore opportunities to establish similar retail outlets at the Port of Tema. This expansion is expected to enhance the visibility of Ghanaian products and further support the country’s job creation and export promotion agenda.


The Deputy Chief Executive Officer commended the company for its longstanding partnership with the Authority and for its continued contribution to promoting Made-in-Ghana products. He reiterated the Authority’s commitment to supporting Free Zones companies and ensuring they operate within an enabling environment that fosters growth and expansion.
The visit also provided an opportunity for discussions on how the Authority can assist in addressing any operational challenges the company may encounter.
The GFZA delegation included the Director of Corporate Affairs, PR & Aftercare, Dr. Patience Agbleze Acorlor; the Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Bilal Muazu Sulemana and other officers from the Aftercare Unit.
