On March 18, 2026, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, led a management team on a strategic working visit to two Free Zones Enterprises (FZEs) in the Tema Free Zone enclave. The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration, assess operations, and address emerging challenges.



The first stop was Rebecca Fashion Manufacturing Ghana Ltd., a leading producer and exporter of human and synthetic hair wigs. The company exports to markets such as South Africa, Togo and Burkina Faso and employs over 400 staff. Management expressed appreciation to the GFZA for its continued support. Dr. Awusi commended the company for its contribution to job creation.



The team also visited MND Metals Company Limited, a metal processing company specializing in the processing of aluminium and copper scrap into ingots. Established as a Free Zones Enterprise in 2016, the company exports its entire production to international markets, including India, Turkey, Italy, Spain, and Greece. With a workforce of over 500 employees, it also provides vocational training and supports community initiatives.
Dr. Awusi praised MND Metals for its strong performance and compliance with Free Zones regulations. She reiterated the GFZA’s commitment to supporting free zone enterprises and encouraged the company to invest more in corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Dr. Awusi was accompanied by senior officials of the Authority, including the Director of Corporate Affairs, PR and Aftercare, Dr. Patience Agbleze Acorlor; the Director of Administration, Hajia Hanatu Abubakar; the Head of Compliance, Mr. Michael Larbi; the Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Bilal Muazu; and other officers.
