GFZA PARTICIPATES IN KWAHU BUSINESS FORUM 2026

The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) reaffirmed its commitment to driving investment and supporting private sector growth through its active participation in the Kwahu Business Forum 2026. Building on its involvement in the 2025 edition, the Authority engaged stakeholders, investors and entrepreneurs during the three-day forum held from 3rd to 5th April 2026 under the theme “The Future of Business: Scaling Up Local Enterprise.”

The forum focused on promoting MSME growth, improving access to finance, expanding agribusiness, enhancing value addition, fostering youth entrepreneurship and strengthening partnerships aimed at boosting local production for export.

In her address, the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry (MOTAI), Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, highlighted the need to build competitive local industries, deepen value chains and position Ghanaian businesses to take advantage of regional and global market opportunities.

The keynote address was delivered by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, who emphasized the importance of scaling local enterprises and promoting manufacturing as key drivers of economic transformation.

The Special Guest of Honour, the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, also emphasized in his speech that private sector-led growth and investment are central to Ghana’s national development agenda.

Other key speakers included the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mr. Johnson Pandit Asiama; Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Mr. Simon Madjie; along with other senior government officials and industry leaders.

The Authority was represented by senior management and other officers, including the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations), Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu; Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Finance and Administration), Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah; Director for Marketing and Investment Promotion, Ms. Anita Novi Quashie; and Senior Manager Corporate Affairs, PR and Aftercare, Mr. Bilal Muazu Sulemana.

Their engagement with stakeholders reflected the GFZA’s hands-on approach to investor support and its commitment to building strong, lasting relationships within the business ecosystem.

Notable dignitaries who visited the GFZA exhibition booth included the President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama; the Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah; and Mr. Augustus Tanoh, Head of the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat. Additionally, private sector stakeholders from various industries engaged the team on the Free Zones Scheme and the procedures for registering businesses under the Scheme.
