BEL-AQUA SPARKS A NEW CONVERSATION ON MENTAL HEALTH

Accra, September 2026

Bel-Aqua has taken a fresh step towards promoting mental wellbeing with its maiden Mental Health Clinic, organised for senior management and staff of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) on Friday, 18th September 2026. The clinic was aimed at raising awareness about mental health, helping staff better understand and manage workplace stress and promoting emotional wellbeing.

Delivering the acceptance speech on behalf of the Authority, the Deputy CEO for Finance and Administration, Mr. Musa Sibiri, welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation to Bel-Aqua for choosing GFZA for the programme. He emphasised the importance of open conversations about mental health and recognising and managing stress in both the workplace and everyday life.

The interactive session, led by Dr. Seth Mawusi Asafo, a Clinical Psychologist at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, provided participants with practical insights into managing stress, maintaining good mental health and recognising signs of mental health challenges. The session encouraged staff to pay attention to their emotional wellbeing, seek support when needed and understand that taking a break is an important part of caring for the mind.

The Authority remains committed to initiatives that promote the health, wellbeing and productivity of its staff.  A healthier mind makes for a healthier workplace.
