GFZA CEO Meets Delegation from Riphah International University, Pakistan

Accra, February 2026

On 23rd February 2026, a distinguished delegation from Riphah International University, Islamabad, Pakistan, led by Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan, Chancellor of the University, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, at the Authority’s Head Office in Accra. The visit formed part of the delegation’s mission to explore potential collaboration and investment opportunities in Ghana.

Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Awusi commended the leadership of Riphah International University for its forward-looking approach to building bridges between academia and industry. She took the delegation through the Free Zones Scheme, explaining its objectives, regulatory framework and the variety of incentives available to investors. She further highlighted key benefits, such as tax exemptions and market access, which make Ghana an attractive hub for export-oriented businesses across multiple sectors.

The delegation expressed interest in agribusiness as well as medical and educational partnerships, particularly in areas promoting capacity building, research collaboration and student exchange programmes. Both parties agreed to continue discussions aimed at fostering academic cooperation, research collaboration and investment initiatives to strengthen Ghana–Pakistan relations.

Also present at the meeting were the Director of Corporate Affairs, PR & Aftercare, Dr. Patience Agbleze Acorlor, and the Director of Human Resource, Mrs. Evelyn Oye Asante.
