


The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, on May 7, 2025, paid a familiarization visit to three Free Zone Enterprises operating within the Tema Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
The visit formed part of the CEO’s ongoing stakeholder engagement efforts aimed at deepening relations with licensed Free Zone Enterprises and gaining firsthand knowledge of their operations and challenges.
The CEO visited AMP Logistics Limited, a logistics company, as well as two cocoa processing companies – Chocomac Ghana Limited and Barry Callebaut Ghana Limited.
At AMP Logistics Limited, Dr. Awusi met with the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Joe Forson, and his management team. Mr. Forson stated that the company provides comprehensive logistics services to Free Zone Enterprises.
He indicated that AMP has expanded over the years, attributing its growth to the support of the GFZA.
He further revealed that the company has acquired Chocomac Ghana Limited (to be renamed TF Commodities Limited) as part of its strategy to become fully integrated in the cocoa processing value chain. He noted that the company currently does not face any major operational challenges. Dr. Awusi toured both facilities.
At Barry Callebaut Ghana Limited, Dr. Awusi met with the Managing Director, Mr. Ibrahim Menkeh M., and his management team. Mr. Menkeh commended the GFZA for its continued support over the years and expressed appreciation that the company’s challenges were already being addressed.
In her response, Dr. Awusi reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the companies to expand under her tenure. She commended them for their contributions to the national economy and lauded their alignment with the government’s flagship 24-Hour Economy Policy.
The visit underscores GFZA’s commitment to fostering a responsive and business-friendly environment that enables Free Zone Enterprises to thrive and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s export-led industrialization agenda.



Dr. Awusi was accompanied by Mr. Apau Wiredu Lateef, Deputy CEO (Operations), and other senior officials of the Authority.
