GFZA Deepens Engagement with UK Trade Partners

On May 21, 2025, the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) hosted a strategic breakfast meeting with the newly appointed UK Trade Envoy to Ghana, Hon. Bell Ribeiro-Addy; representatives from the UK’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT); and the UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC).

The Deputy CEO (Operations) of GFZA, Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu, welcomed the delegation and underscored the importance of the UK-Ghana partnership in advancing trade and investment. He highlighted the timeliness of the Envoy’s appointment and the opportunities it presents to deepen bilateral collaboration.

Hon. Bell Ribeiro-Addy reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening UK-Ghana trade relations through targeted partnerships and enhanced engagement under the UK-Ghana Trade Partnership Agreement (TPA).

The Deputy CEO (Finance & Administration), Mr. Musah Sibiri Hamidu, outlined Ghana’s strong potential in agro-processing, floriculture, and gold production—sectors supported by favorable climatic conditions and the government’s 24-Hour Economy Strategy.

Ms. Patience Agbleze Acorlor, Director of Corporate Affairs & PR, made a presentation on the Free Zone Scheme.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to enhance cooperation and explore new investment opportunities that align with the economic development goals of both countries.

Also present at the meeting were Hajia Hanatu Abubakar-Bimi, Director of Administration; Ms. Evelyn Oye Asante, Director of Human Resource; Benjamin Obeng, Head of Estate & Zones; and Ms. Stella Baah-Aidoo, Senior Finance Manager.
