Accra, 15th September 2025.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, has paid a courtesy call on the Hungarian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Tamás Endre Fehér, and his team to explore potential areas of cooperation in promoting export-oriented businesses under the Free Zones Programme.

Dr. Awusi underscored Hungary’s strengths in advanced education and agriculture, from which Ghana continues to benefit. She further highlighted the incentives available under the Free Zones Programme, as well as the availability of land within designated zones to accommodate prospective Hungarian investors.
Ambassador Fehér indicated that Hungarian investors are particularly interested in chemical materials, poultry production, training initiatives, and related projects. He expressed the Embassy’s readiness to collaborate with the Authority in engaging potential investors and requested a follow-up meeting to gain deeper insight into the Free Zones scheme.

Both parties agreed that the GFZA will actively participate in upcoming Hungarian business meetings in both Ghana and Hungary. The discussions reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to fostering strong international partnerships to drive investment, enhance industrial growth, and expand Ghana’s role in global trade.
