On Thursday, 12th February 2026, the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) held a training session for twenty-nine (29) newly licensed companies at its Head Office in Accra. The training, organized by the Compliance Department, aimed at equipping the new enterprises with the necessary knowledge to operate effectively within the Free Zones Scheme.



The Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mary Awusi, welcomed participants and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investors. She emphasized the importance of compliance with the Free Zones Act to ensure sustainable business operations and national development. She also assured the companies of the Authority’s continuous support.
Officials from key departments—Compliance, Monitoring, Administration, Management Information Systems, Marketing and Investment Promotion, Corporate Affairs, PR & Aftercare, Finance, and Business Development, Research & AfCFTA—took participants through their roles, operational guidelines, and procedures. The departments provided practical insights to help companies integrate smoothly into the Free Zones framework and take advantage of incentives such as tax exemptions and market access opportunities.



The training strengthened the partnership between the Authority and the newly licensed enterprises by ensuring they commence operations with a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities. Through this engagement, the Authority reaffirmed its commitment to positioning Ghana as a competitive hub for regional trade and investment.
