CEO of GFZA Meets with representatives of Dufry & GTDC Ltd

On Monday, 12th May 2025, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, received a delegation from Dufry & GTDC Ltd., led by the General Manager, Ms. Ines Gaaliche. Ms. Gaaliche was accompanied by the company’s Administration and Finance Managers.

Dufry & GTDC Ltd. is a joint venture between Dufry, a global leader in travel retail, and the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC). The company operates under the Free Zones Scheme as a duty-free enterprise.

The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the company’s management team to the new CEO of the Authority, provide an overview of its current operations in Ghana, and explore potential areas of continued support and collaboration with the Authority.

During the discussion, Ms. Gaaliche expressed their appreciation for the pivotal role the Authority plays in fostering a conducive environment for Free Zone Enterprises and shared insights into their ongoing developmental plans aimed at contributing to Ghana’s economic transformation.

Dr. Awusi commended Dufry & GTDC Ltd. for their partnership with a key government agency and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to facilitating growth-oriented private sector initiatives within the Free Zones ecosystem. She emphasized that the Authority remains dedicated to supporting strategic investments that align with Ghana’s broader economic agenda.
