
As part of the official three-day State Visit to Ghana by H.E. Petr Pavel, President of the Czech Republic, a high-level Ghana–Czech Business Forum was held on Tuesday, April 9, 2025, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. The forum brought together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to explore avenues for trade and investment between the two countries. The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), led by its CEO, Dr. Mary Awusi, played an active role in the forum, engaging Czech businesses and promoting the extensive investment opportunities available under the Free Zones Scheme.


In his address, President John Dramani Mahama reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening economic relations with the Czech Republic, emphasizing that Ghana remains open for business. He highlighted significant investment opportunities in sectors such as transport and logistics, agro-processing, digital technology, healthcare, manufacturing, and tourism. He also emphasized the strategic advantages offered by trade agreements such as, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), which are locational advantages that Czech investors could leverage on.
President Mahama further highlighted the government’s 24-Hour Economy Policy, aimed at enhancing productivity and generating sustainable employment, especially for the youth.
President Petr Pavel, in his address, lauded Ghana’s stable democratic environment and described the country as a natural and attractive partner for Czech businesses. He encouraged Czech businesses to explore partnership opportunities in Ghana and announced that Czech Republic would host a reciprocal business forum in Prague later in the year.



The event concluded with a B2B (Business to Business) session, during which the GFZA facilitated strategic meetings between Free Zone Enterprises and Czech companies to foster collaboration and drive business growth.
