Dr. Mary Awusi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), joined His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Hon. Dzifa Abla Gomashie and the Chairman of the Greenhouse Group, Mr. Zheng Xiangming, to cut the sod for Phase Four of the Bright International Industrial Park, a Free Zone developer.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held at Doryumu in the Shai Hills, marks the beginning of an ambitious project that will feature the development of a state-of-the-art amusement park , a milestone in Ghana’s tourism and entertainment landscape. Bright International, a Free Zones developer under the Greenhouse Group, is spearheading this visionary initiative, which is set to become a world-class hub for entertainment, business, and leisure.


In his address, President Mahama commended the Greenhouse Group for its foresight and long-term investment in Ghana’s economy. He assured the company of continuous government support and applauded its success in establishing over 70 companies across diverse sectors, including agriculture, real estate, manufacturing, and aquaculture.
Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare reiterated government’s commitment to creating a favorable environment for investors. She described the upcoming amusement park as a flagship commercial and entertainment destination that will enhance tourism and advance the government’s vision for a vibrant 24-hour economy.


Since beginning operations in Ghana in 2011, Bright International has invested over USD 700 million in sectors such as aquaculture, cement, furniture, and real estate. The amusement park, to be developed in phases on a 500-acre site, will feature a golf course, clubhouse, hotel, conference center, water park, artificial beach, restaurants, and business zones. Scheduled for completion within two to three years, the park will operate vibrantly by day and be illuminated at night , a powerful symbol of Ghana’s growing appeal as a hub for business, tourism, and entertainment.
Later in the day, Dr. Mary Awusi also joined the President and the Minister to commission Invess manufacturing Ltd, a newly licensed Free Zone enterprise specializing in fertilizer production for export.
In attendance at both events were the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Finance & Administration), Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah, together with other senior management and officers of the Ghana Free Zones Authority.
