GFZA Participates in the 33rd and 34th National Presidential Export Awards

The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) participated in the combined 33rd and 34th National Presidential Export Awards ceremony held on 17th December 2025 under the theme “Building a Resilient Export Economy for Tomorrow.” The prestigious national event brought together key stakeholders within Ghana’s export ecosystem to celebrate excellence, resilience, and innovation in the export sector.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, was the Special Guest of Honour and delivered a keynote address underscoring the critical role of exports in driving Ghana’s industrialization agenda, economic growth, job creation, and global competitiveness. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting exporters to expand and thrive in international markets.

In her address, the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry (MOTAI), Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, highlighted the Government’s continued commitment to export-led growth through strengthening the export ecosystem, supportive policies, strategic partnerships, value addition and lowering the cost of doing business in Ghana.

Notably, several Free Zone Enterprises distinguished themselves at the awards ceremony including Usibras Ghana Limited, Olam Ghana Limited (OFI), Worldshoe, Maphlix and Fair Afrique Ghana Limited. These achievements reflect the growing impact of Free Zone Enterprises in strengthening Ghana’s export base and enhancing the country’s reputation in global markets.

The Ghana Free Zones Authority extends its warm congratulations to Usibras, Olam, Fair Afrique, as well as all award winners across the various categories, for their excellence, resilience, and sustained contribution to Ghana’s export-led economic transformation.

The GFZA was represented at the event by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Finance and Administration), Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah; the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations), Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu; the Director of Corporate Affairs, Public Relations and Aftercare, Dr. Patience Agbleze Acorlor; and the Director of Marketing, Ms. Anita Novi Quashie. Their presence reaffirmed the Authority’s strong institutional support for export-oriented enterprises and its commitment to promoting the Free Zones Programme as a key pillar of Ghana’s export development strategy.

The Ghana Free Zones Authority remains committed to supporting Free Zone Enterprises to scale up production, diversify export markets, and deepen value addition in line with the Government’s industrialization and export growth agenda.
