Accra, 18th October, 2025

A team from the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), led by the Deputy CEO (Finance and Administration), Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah, and the Deputy CEO (Operations), Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu, donated essential items to the Ghana Prisons Service.
The donation is a follow-up to an earlier meeting held between the Director General of the Prisons Service, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, and the CEO of the GFZA, Dr. Mary Awusi, and her management team in July 2025 to explore areas of collaboration.
In his remarks, the Deputy CEO (Finance and Administration) noted that discussions during the previous engagement focused on potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions and how they could support each other. He further highlighted that, as part of the corporate social responsibility initiative marking its 30th Anniversary, the Authority decided to support the Prisons Service through a donation of essential items.
The Deputy CEO (Operations), in his remarks, reiterated the Authority’s commitment to national development and the importance of strengthening partnerships with key institutions such as the Ghana Prisons Service. He also informed the Service of the ongoing anniversary activities and extended an invitation to them to participate.

Receiving the donation, the Director General of the Prisons Service expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, describing it as the beginning of a promising partnership.
She also invited the Authority to make use of the Prisons Service’s sporting facilities.
Items donated included laptops, toiletries, bags of rice, and assorted food items.
Also present were the Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Evelyn Oye Asante; Senior Manager (Corporate Affairs), Mr. Bilal Muazu Sulemana; and other staff of the Authority.
