The Deputy Chief Executive Officers of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu (Operations) and Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah (Finance & Administration), participated in the sod-cutting ceremony for the Solar for Industries (SFI) 200MWp Solar Park at Agortor, within the Dawa Industrial Zone in the Greater Accra Region.
In his address, the Special Guest of Honour, H.E. President John Dramani Mahama, commended the private sector for its growing investment in renewable energy. He emphasized that sustainable power generation is key to driving Ghana’s industrial transformation agenda and ensuring reliable, affordable energy for businesses and communities across the country.



President Mahama further assured investors of Ghana’s readiness to spearhead an industrial revolution that will not only transform the national economy but also serve as a catalyst for Africa’s next phase of development.
Delivering a speech on behalf of Dr. Mary Awusi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, the Deputy CEO (Finance & Administration) noted that as an enterprise operating under the GFZA, the SFI initiative exemplifies the innovative spirit and private sector leadership that the Authority continues to encourage and support.



Mr. Kojo Aduhene, Chief Executive Officer of Quarm Investments—the parent company of SFI — expressed his appreciation to the Ghana Free Zones Authority for its consistent support and facilitation throughout the project’s development.
The 200MWp Solar Park project, being executed by SFI, a subsidiary of LMI Holdings Limited, will be implemented in two phases, beginning with an initial 200MWp installation.


Also present at the ceremony were the Director of Corporate Affairs & PR, Dr. Patience Agbleze Acorlor; Director of the GFZA Tema Office, Mr. Lawrence Osei Boateng; Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs & PR, Mr. Bilal Muazu; as well as other unit heads and staff of the Authority.
